Theology of the Body and Humane Vitae

We recently observed the 50th anniversary of Pope St. Paul VI’s encyclical Humanae Vitae, and this year marks the 40th anniversary since the beginning of Pope St. John Paul II’s Wednesday audiences that collectively are known as the Theology of the Body. How are these two teachings connected? And what do they still have to say to Catholics today?

Dr. Michael Waldstein, translator of the English translation of John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, will discuss these and related questions with Franciscan University Presents host Dr. Bob Rice, professor of theology and catechetics at Franciscan University of Steubenville, and panelists Dr. Scott Hahn and Dr. Regis Martin of Franciscan University’s Theology Department.
