Dr. Josephine Lombardi: Mercy and Beyond: Becoming Experts in Humanity

Guest:

Pope St. John Paul II once declared, “Right from the beginning of my ministry in St. Peter’s See in Rome, I consider this message [of Divine Mercy] my special task.” Pope Francis has also brought an urgency to spreading the message of mercy to his papacy and is bringing this message to the world in his own way.

Dr. Josephine Lombardi, Associate Professor of Pastoral and Systematic Theology, Professor of Field Education, and Director of Lay Formation for St. Augustine’s Seminary in Scarborough, Ontario, develops three key features of Pope Francis’ program of Life: therapeutic jurisprudence, the Marian dimension, and an interdisciplinary approach to human formation. Her talk entitled “Mercy and Beyond: Becoming Experts in Humanity” was part of the Pope Francis’ Vision for the Renewal of the Church Symposium at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
