Dr. Alan Schreck, Professor of Theology at Franciscan University of Steubenville, examines the parallels between St. Francis and Pope Francis in the areas of mercy, marriage and family, creation, and evangelization in his talk entitled “St. Francis and Pope Francis: Comparing Their Vision.” Dr. Schreck examines these themes more fully in his book St. Francis and Pope Francis: Prayer, Poverty, and Joy in Jesus. His talk was part of the Pope Francis’ Vision for the Renewal of the Church Symposium at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
